Tree Felling & Removals

Tree felling involves cutting down a tree to the ground. It can be a complex and dangerous task that should only be performed by experienced professionals. With years of experience, we use the latest techniques and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient process. The approach to tree felling can vary depending on the size and location of the tree.

We assess the tree and surrounding area to determine the best removal method, ensuring minimal impact. This may involve using ropes, rigging, or specialized equipment to control the descent of the tree, ensuring a safe and efficient process. After the tree has been removed, we will clean up the area, leaving your property tidy.

Pruning

There are several reasons why a tree might need pruning. One of the most common reasons for tree pruning is to reduce the weight of its limbs to minimize wind resistance. By reducing the wind resistance of a tree, the risk of causing damage is lowered. Another reason is, of course, for fruit propagation. Apples, pears, cherries, etc., all require regular pruning for the health of your tree.

Another reason for having a tree pruned is if its branches are growing wildly out of control and invading the space of other trees. If the branches of a tree are overgrown, they can block out the sunlight for other plants, shrubs, and trees.

Stump Grinding

If you need to remove unsightly stumps in your garden, we provide high-quality stump grinding services. Our team utilizes advanced stump grinders and can eliminate stumps up to 6-9 inches below the ground level.

Crown Thinning

Crown thinning is a pruning technique for deciduous trees that reduces branch density without changing the tree’s size or shape. It involves removing crossing, rubbing, and diseased branches, as well as selectively removing stems and branches to allow more light and air through the tree’s canopy. This promotes better light and air flow, reduces wind resistance, and lowers the risk of branch breakage.

Crown Reduction

The reduction in height and spread of the crown of a tree. Crown reduction may be used to reduce mechanical stress on individual branches or the whole tree, make the tree more suited to its immediate environment or to reduce the effects of shading and light loss, etc. Not all species are suitable.

Crown Lifting

The raising of a tree’s crown by removing lower branches is done to create space for pedestrian or vehicle access, allow light to pass through, or improve the tree’s appearance or a view.

Tree Surveys

The survey will involve creating a detailed report for a specific site. Each individual tree or group of trees will be given a unique identifying number. The report will include the species and dimensions of each tree, along with photographs and descriptions of any defects such as dead or dangerous branches, fungus, or weakened unions.

The most important aspect of the survey is assessing the health and condition of each tree and determining whether it could affect nearby existing or proposed structures. It’s also crucial to accurately map the location of the trees in relation to other on-site features, as the distance between a tree and a building could have implications for both.

Other Services

Emergency Tree Work

Emergency tree work is typically carried out after a storm, but there are instances when trees may fail at other times and require urgent removal. Emergency work usually indicates significant risks to people, property, or a blocked road. Trees can sustain damage during storms due to factors such as disease, fungal decay, structural problems, high winds from an unusual or new direction, or extreme winds.

Emergency work can be more hazardous than regular planned tree work, as the tree may be compromised and unpredictable. In certain cases, the tree may not be safe to climb, necessitating the use of a cherry picker (MEWP) for cutting without a climber being tied into the tree.

Hedge Cutting

Our hedge cutting services keep your garden looking beautiful. If required, we can arrange to carry out hedge trimming on a regular basis to ensure that your hedges look stunning throughout the year.

Herbicide & Fungicide Treatments

Herbicide and fungicide treatments serve different purposes in plant and tree care. Herbicides are designed to eliminate or suppress the growth of unwanted weeds, while fungicides help combat fungal diseases such as mold, mildew, and rust. Both methods play a crucial role in maintaining healthy vegetation and require careful application, tailored to specific plant requirements and environmental conditions.
